The Charterers P&I Club provides Charterers Liability and FD&D cover to charterers for limits of up to USD 500 million and USD 5 million respectively.
Established in 1986, the Charterers P&I Club is managed by the MECO Group a managing general agent with 40 years of experience in marine insurances.
Annual premium income in 2017 remained flat at approximately USD 29 million with over half the portfolio deriving from Asian / Middle Eastern chartered tonnage.
The Charterers P&I Club employs 15 maritime lawyers and commercial claims handlers who are based across offices in London, Dubai and Shanghai. They also have representative offices in Madrid and Sydney.
Underlying security is provided by Great Lakes Insurance SE, UK Branch ‘GLISE’, a wholly owned subsidiary of Munich Re, the global reinsurance company.
