Hanseatic is a coverholder which provides shipowners and charterers with P&I and FD&D cover for limits up to USD 500 million and USD 2 million respectively. It is managed by Zeller Associates Management Services GmbH, headquartered in Hamburg.

Hanseatic insured tonnage has traditionally originated from Germany and Northern Europe, with 69% of its insured tonnage derived from European domiciled owners.

The coverholder increased annual premium income by almost 5% to USD 20.6 million, following a similar pattern to the previous underwriting year. It increased year on year tonnage by 6.3%, with notable growth in Southern Europe and South America.

Primary layer security is provided by Lloyd's syndicates for policy limits up to USD 50 million, with security for policy limits in excess of this figure provided by a consortium of Lloyd's syndicates and composite insurers.
